What is Army Agniveer Scheme?

The Agnipath Scheme is the Indian Armed Forces' recruitment pathway for soldiers, introduced by the Government of India. Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: 17½ to 21 years (candidates born between July 1, 2005 and July 1, 2009 are eligible). Upper age limit relaxable up to 30 years for widows of defence personnel who died in harness.

    • Agniveer GD: Class 10th pass with 45% marks aggregate in five subjects and minimum 33% in each subject
    • Agniveer Technical: 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with 50% aggregate and 40% in each subject
    • Agniveer Clerk/SKT: 12th pass with 60% aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject
    • Agniveer Tradesman: 8th/10th pass (depending on trade)
