What is Kanya Sumangala Yojana?

Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana (MKSY) is a flagship scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government launched in 2019. It provides ₹25,000 in 6 installments to families for the welfare of girl children — from birth up to graduation. The scheme aims to promote the education of girls and eliminate negative attitudes towards the girl child.

The scheme is managed by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

  • Children Limit: Family should have a maximum of 2 children (relaxation for twins)
  • Adopted Daughters: If a family has adopted a girl child, she is also eligible (max 2 children including biological and adopted)
